  18. Have you considered making a SCSI2Floppy adapter and a rewritten 
  19. trackdisk.device? It's only draw back is that some badly programmed games 
  20. wouldn't work. If AT were to leave the old floppy connector in the 
  21. machine and give detailed instructions on how to switch the drive to the 
  22. old drive connector and switch the drive to 880k mode for compatiblity. 
  23. It might be possible to do a automatic switch but it would be more costly.

  25. With the right floppy drive controller chip and a rewrite to the 
  26. trackdisk.device, it should be possible to support standard Amiga 
  27. formatted floppies. The SCSI2Floppy adapter could be retrofited to older 
  28. Amigas with a SCSI port.

  30. Has AT seriously thought about just going with CDROM drives, hard drives 
  31. and make the floppy optional? Third party developers have already solved 
  32. the problem so it would be a lot less headache on people at AT.

  34. Also, could you pass a suggestion along? To add a system check to see 
  35. if DF0: exists before it's mounted at bootup. Right now if you remove the 
  36. floppy drive for some reason and boot the system, it shows up as a bad 
  37. disk.
